Onions

Our wholesale potatoes are perfectly complemented by our range of red and yellow onions from all over Austria.

We are able to rely on the experience of our farmers, who number about 20. We supply packing houses in Italy, Slovenia, and Hungary with our wholesale onions, which are mainly from the granary of Austria, the Marchfeld.

We are able to deliver the first spring onions from July. Warehouse goods are available throughout the winter, and we guarantee supplies to our customers until the end of May with cold storage onions.

We can also offer 5kg, 10kg, and 25kg, or 4kg and 8kg net bags.
This type of packaging is mainly in demand for exporting to the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Italy.

On request, we also offer small packages for the retail trade in Austria and in all neighbouring countries.
The range includes 500g, 1kg, 1.5kg, 2kg, and 2.5kg nets.

History of the onion (allium cepa):
The onion originally comes from the Western and Central Asian region and has been used for healing, flavouring, and cooking for more than 5,000 years. The Romans then spread the “cepula” to Central Europe. Today, the onion is valued not only for cooking, but also for its anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It is thought to keep the vascular system young and alleviate coughs and digestive problems.
